The Continental Indoor Football League, in conjunction with the Marion Mayhem and Fort Wayne FireHawks announce that the game scheduled for May 15 in Marion, Ohio is to be postponed until Saturday, June 12.

Ownership changes involving the Mayhem and the overall concern of the players from an insurance standpoint have resulted in the schedule change. "Proper liability and compensation insurance is being obtained but we feel that it won't be in place in time for kickoff on Saturday," said CIFL Commissioner Jeff Spitaleri.

The change comes as the Mayhem (3-3) are fighting for playoff positioning with the Fort Wayne FireHawks (3-3). Previous ownership, Cheyenne Sports Group, stepped down on Wednesday over financial concerns among players, coaches and the CIFL. "We had to act with interested individuals in order to keep the Mayhem on the field this season. We have been able to benefit from the bye week to give them adequate time to organize and prepare for their next game on May 28 in Fort Wayne.

The scheduled game between the Marion Mayhem and Miami Valley Silverbacks on June 12 is currently being removed from the schedule and a further decision on the game will be made as necessary.

Tickets for the originally scheduled game this Saturday, May 15 and any purchased for the Saturday, June 12 game against Miami Valley can be used at the June 12 game against the FireHawks.
